Video Killed the Radio Star

I completely forgot about these pictures from a music video shoot I worked on as a stylists' consultant just before Christmas, until I stumbled upon them this morning while clicking through my photos.

The Garage Gypsy and I had a lot of fun on this shoot - which took place all the way out in Ridgecrest, CA -  although I've never been so cold or thought I would survive over 10 hours without Diet Coke.  Just as we thought we were truly going to die from lack of caffeine, we snuck away from the shoot to a local hotel.  Really it was more of someone's house with a big deck, a dining room restaurant and rooms for rent.  The locals there were taking shots of tequila and forced us to drink roughly two pots of coffee each and eat menudo.  It was kind of amazing.  Both the people and the soup.

This post has no point except that the desert is so beautiful, especially in the winter.  We drew inspiration from the muted, cool color palette and freezing temperatures.  I sort of felt like an extra in The Burning Plain.  Minus all of the adultery and fiery death.
